ITDI's improved food processing technologies promote nutritious, safe, ready-to-eat (RTE) and shelf-stable food products. These technologies are carefully researched and perfected to establish good quality food products that are acceptable to consumers. Among these technologies include RTE chicken arroz caldo, ready-to-drink (RTD) coconut milk, alternative sugar from nipa sap and cacao processed products.

These are mostly nutraceuticals wherein micronutrients from local plant materials are capsulated and compacted for convenience. These serve as alternative natural health supplements to help maintain a healthy and proactive body.

Also, promoted under this cluster are natural-based ointments/creams from indigenous plants with proven healing properties, and secondary products from calamansi waste/peels like calamansi essential oil and high dietary fiber.

Green Engineering
January 16, 2018 | 9:00 am to 11:00 am
Simple prototype technologies that are compact, easy to operate, low-cost, and environment-friendly. Product models include C3 composite technology for oil spill remediation, charcoal briquettes made from fruit and root crop peels, dual-drum composter, electric densifier, and abaca fiber-reinforced composite as roofing material.

Advanced Technology
February 15, 2018 | 9:00 am to 11:00 am

Nanotechnologies designed to create new materials with unique properties by fine-tuning the physical, chemical, mechanical, and optical properties of a given material. Among ITDI's nanoclay technologies are biodegradable polymers like thermoplastic starch nanoclay pellets; nanoclay products from bentonite ore as additive in polymer clay nanocomposite systems; and food-grade nano-precipitated calcium carbonate applicable in rubber, food, pharmaceuticals, paint and coating industries to name a few.
